On March 28, 2011, we filed an administrative appeal with the U.S. Coast Guard, seeking a response to our request of June 24, 2011 (request 2010-2748). While we received confirmation of the request on July 22, 2011, we had yet to receive any response by March of this year. We filed an appeal to seek such a response.
On July 19th of this year, FOIA officer D.G. Taylor sent us a letter which stated that our initial request had never been “received by the appropriate unit” within the agency. Mr. Taylor further stated that he forwarded our request to the Coast Guard’s Office of General Law and its Deep Water Horizon records unit.
